HR Leadership Congress India 2011 Mumbai

So the third edition of the HRLC has come and gone already! After months of preparation it just flew by over 3 intense days between 27th- 29th September. And we at The Ideas Exchange are extremely proud that this unique peer-to-peer platform continues to grow, develop and serve the senior HR community well.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of our delegates, speakers and partners who associated with us and helped make the conference such a huge success.

HRLC as you know, is a very focused community platform that brings together HR leaders from across India and overseas to specifically acquire solutions to their most pressing and critical business challenges, not only of today but tomorrow as well. At The Ideas Exchange our endeavor is to constantly strive to bring to you these amazing fraternity platforms to enable you to

have peer to peer contact and best practices sharing experience, and as mentioned by a number of the attendees......

"The HR leadership Congress has raised the bar this time in terms of design and relevancy of topics selected. It's a good place to network and learn unique practices from your colleagues in other industries."

-Lancelot Cutinha, HR Head, Mahindra Lifespaces

"Sharing insights with human capital leaders was a wonderful experience for me.  Tapping into the collective wisdom at such a forum enriches us all."

-Rebecca L. Ray, Vice President & Managing Director, Human Capital, The Conference Board

"The event was well organized, and it was a pleasure to meet so many interesting people from diverse organizations. Such events also help to generate new ideas and inspire one to do better as we get back into our daily routine."

-Shalaka Gadekar, Group Head HR, Financial Technologies India Limited

"Very enriching event, especially Kate and Indie's sessions. What really stood out was the choice of participants; very warm and insightful, without being judgmental. I enjoyed the interactions, immensely!"

-Shantanu Dhar, Assistant Executive Director HR, Dalmia Bharat Enterprises Cement Business

We construct our events after great deliberations, based on industry feedbacks and extensive research into various issues faced by the community on a day to day basis and that's not it, we also help you find solutions with the aid and guidance from the industry experts and most desired industry leaders.

Some of the topics that were discussed at the HRLC included:

  • Need for developing innovation abilities
  • War for talent: Critical analysis of current talent management needs
  • Innovation in engagement: Growth paths for the potential talent within the organisation
  • Need for leaders to transform themselves in order to transform their teams
  • Benefits of effective succession planning

And some of the thoughts and ideas that emerged out of the conversations included:

  • CEO Challenge Survey 2011 report: talent as the biggest challenge that more than 700 CEO's globally felt rank higher than business growth
  • Need for HR Leaders to be less transactional and more transformational in their approach to people management for their organisations
  • Developing people in your teams so they come to work because they 'want' to not cause they 'have' to!
  • Profit is king no longer supersedes values as the market has increasingly evolved to be employee based now and is not likely to shift back to an employer's market anytime soon
  • Need for diversity to percolate throughout the workplace through the dynamic process of ideas and innovation and not only in the obvious parameters of gender, age and culture

We'll be releasing some of the findings from the HRLC in a report later very shortly and if you would like to receive a complimentary copy then please send an email to vikas.vij@ideas-exchange.in and we'll issue it to you upon release.
