Indi Seehra
Fellow of the Judge Business School and Director of Human Resources
University of Cambridge
Indi Seehra is a Fellow of the Judge Business School and Director of Human Resources at the University of Cambridge, supporting the effective management of some 9,000 staff. Indi brings much experience as an HR practitioner, having held a number of significant private and public sector appointments. He is a non-Executive Director with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (in England) and a member of the Editorial Board of the People Management journal.
Born in Jamshedpur, India, he studied at Loyola School before moving to England and completing his secondary education at the Heathland School in West London. He studied at Portsmouth University and Sheffield Business School before graduating with a Masters in Organisational Development.
Having completed his traineeship with National Power, his early career developed with United Friendly Insurance Plc, where he furthered his passion for organisational change arising from mergers and acquisitions. He subsequently became the International HR Director for Crawford & Company, an Atlanta-based claims management company, and was a consultant to Old Mutual Insurance.
In 1999, Indi joined the Civil Service as HR Director for the Crown Prosecution Service. Other postings have included heading up the HR and Customer Services portfolio for the Pension Service and subsequently the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
Indi is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a regular speaker at leadership conferences, with recent speaking engagements in France, the Middle East, Austria and the UK.
